Public engagement with and outreach to society to solve social challenges
The twinning exchange proposed by UG will focus on best practices to promote open science and disseminate the research results of UG’s researchers among a wide range of stakeholders, including the general public. In many cases, this research addresses social challenges Poland faces every day. That is why UG tries to support the dissemination of results to communicate the research activities among a broad range of recipients.
During the Twinning, , we will first present the actions and events organized by the Faculty aiming at communicating the basic knowledge about economics among different kinds of target groups of stakeholders (pre-schools, schools, NGOs, older adults, companies, local authorities, etc.). After that, we will show the infrastructure supporting the faculty’s daily operations. Later, we would invite the twinning participants to visit the Library and listen about the initiatives we implement to address different target groups (programs, events, etc.) and the practices towards open science and preserving the region’s heritage. Next, we would like to show the participants the university-created and maintained Museum of Criminology and Mini-Museum of Amber to see the results of the work addressed to the broader audience. The spaces we want to show communicate the university’s research activities in an innovative way, reaching a broad audience. The meeting will show how UG is disseminating the research results, promoting knowledge communication, and focusing on addressing the current needs of the general public and social challenges.
